Friendship Is....

Hey, all! Merry Christmas Eve-Eve-Eve-Eve-Eve-Eve-Eve-Eve! Haha! Anyway....

A coupla weeks ago, my English teacher gave my class an assignment to make a small paragraph with an abstract noun (we're reviewing for semester tests) Just in case any of you would be interested in reading it.... Here it is!

Friendship is....

a treasure that never loses its worth.
lending a shoulder to cry on.
laughing at every joke. (even when they stop being funny)
smiling and waving as we pass each other in the halls.
staying up all night chatting on the phone no matter how tired I am.
            sharing nail polish.
            entrusting secrets in each other.
never turning my back when times are bad.

This is friendship.

I think that this is a truer description of friendship than I have ever heard. Also, a wise man once said that friendships are like tootsie pops... They're sweet and last.... until you bite them. Never bite, and it will last forever.

I have/had many friends in my life. One of them i consider a sister. I have known her all of my life! Others, I only knew for a short time. My elementary life was scattered, so I never could get too close to anyone because I never knew if I'd stay in one place or go to another. Others still, I go to church with and hope to hold a friendship with them forever and to see them in heaven. I hope you all have someone like that.

As I mentioned before, I've been reviewing for semester tests. That means I'll be busy STUDYING (as much as I hate it). That, combined with Christmas and New years, I might not be back on for a while.

If I'm not back by Christmas... I hope yours is a good one! Remember: Jesus is the reason for the season. A Happy New Year, too!

So, in the words of Prince Naveen, Abinata!

Sick Days

Sick days. They're probably the absolute least fun thing in life. You don't feel good, and all you can do about it is lay down and take gross medicine -ick!-.

I've had many of these. I can't stand them. The reason I'm writing this is that I'm coming down with something like the cold. I woke up with my nose plugged-up, I was tired and didn't want to do anything. I felt this way almost all the way through school.

After school, as i did my homework, it got worse and I got a headache. Luckily, I don't have a fever, but I still have to stay home from my brother's football game tonight. Not too bad a loss, I guess. Hehe :). Anyway, I'll get to actually be home to see the new Scooby-Doo live when it premires.

Anyway, I'll talk more later. Bye!

God Looks Over Us

Hey. I was just thinking when I realized: I should be dead, or at least in a hospital bed. I seriously could have been killed last Friday afternoon.

As my grandmother and I were leaving a grocery store, she drove out of the parking lot, not seeing the vehicles that were behind and in front of us. I was terrified! I could already hear the sickening crunch of the two cars colliding. My grandmother said quickly "Lord please help us" and, right after, she was able to maneuver us out of the way. I couldn't speak for a while. I didn't think we'd ever make it out of that.

Now I believe more than ever that God is up there in Heaven, looking after us. He really cares about us. He took care of us, and saved us from what could have been a tragic accident.  Praise the Lord, and thank Him for saving us!

I hope the story of my near brush with death, and God's loving mercy, has touched your heart. He really loves you, just like He loves me. He looks after us. It is said in the Bible "In my time of trouble, I will call on you, Lord for you will answer me." That is the truest thing ever. Can I get an Amen? I'll talk to you soon.

Romans 8:28

Hello, all! Welcome back to the ever-exciting blog, FNS!

Okay, so it may not be that exciting. But, it does have some good points, right?? Anyway, back to todays topic: Romans 8:28.

Romans 8:28 goes like this "For we know that God brings all things together for good, for those who love Him and are the called according to His Purpose." It means that, even though things may seem bad, it's all part of God's big plan for us. He knows exactly what is in store for me, and all the other 6.8 Billion people in the world.

I can really apply this verse to my life, for it's sure had its ups and downs, like any person's life, I guess. Whenever I feel I'm going to lose it, I think back to that verse and feel better.. It helps me through the good times and the bad.

It's for these reasons that I call this my Life Verse. I use its reference everywhere. 828 is one of my small insignias.

Today at church, we had a small time where we could just be quiet and look through our Bibles, and, if we wanted to, just blurt it out loud. I did this with Romans 8:28. It just suddenly slipped out of my mouth. It felt so natural.

I hope that, during your quiet time today, you just skim through the Bible, and find your Life Verse. One that you can really apply to your life, and think about throughout the day. It will help you alot.

God bless you, and good night!

Nyt Håb

Hej! welcome back to FNS. Today I'm going to tell you about my new gadget, and teach you a little Danish.

You might be curious about the title. It is Danish for "New Hope". Why do I mention it? Well, as you might know, you can name your NOOK. Well, I have a story about MY Nook.

I bought my NOOK in mid-July. Only recently, it started acting all wonky. I eventually got so frustrated, so I decided to take it back. Barnes and Noble gave me a replacement one for no extra charge!

I was going to name it Stolen Property, like my old one was, but decided to call it something different. I wanted something new. So, I went on Google translate and clicked around and found the word for "New Hope" in Danish. I loved the sound of it, so that is what is now called.

Nyt Håb is another way to show I have I actually have New Hope. I also have new hope with Nyt Håb. So far, it's given me nowhere NEAR the trouble Stolen Property gave me. it is brand new, sleek, and shiny.

Well, that's all for now. Farvel.

Teen Read Week Celebration

Hello, all! I have some exciting news for you. I am going to Tulsa! Why?

Well, on October 30, the Helmerich Library in Tulsa is hosting the Teen Read Week Celebration. Teen read week inspires teens to, well, read! It's the last week of October and to celebrate, Ally Carter (a certain young bloggist's FAVORITE author) is going to be there!

So, I am going to get to meet my hero in the literary world. I hope to get her to sign my copy of OGSY, which I've already read twice. Hehe :)

If you're going, too, I'll see you there!!!

The Case of the Missing Binder

Hello! I have a quick post for you today. It concerns two things, both having to do with school.

First, yesterday, during Second Hour (choir) I put some music in my binder. Today, I looked where I normally keep it, and it wasn't there! If you are in choir with me and picked up a binder that isn't yours, OR if you found a black binder with a sort of rubberish edge, PLEASE return it.

Second, I have an interesting assignment from my science class. We are supposed to ask people a survey question and graph the results. I don't really know what that has to do with science, but if the teacher says it, you do it. So, here's my predicament: I need SIXTY responses, and I'm not sure when it's due. So, if you could be so kind as to comment an answer on this post?

So, here's the question: Do you compete in a sport/sports?

Leave your answers below in the comments. Thanks a million!

A New Chapter

Hello! Welcome to the first ever post of what I affectionately call my Fresh New Start, or FNS for short. As you may know, I am making some changes to my life. One is to share my new beginning with you, my faithful readers.

I am going to share more about my faith on this blog. You will hear stories I've heard in Sunday School or regular Worship Service. Or, I might just pull out a verse and share what it means to me. I might also post one of my devotions that really touched my heart.

I will also describe the saga that is Jr. High. (or, as some people know it as, middle school) You will follow me in  my trials with due dates and choir concerts

Basically, I am going to share the new chapter of my life with you. If you're wondering what this means for MCL, my previous blog, it's finished. That chapter of my life is over. I was in elementary then. I am growing up. This is your chance to grow up with me. I'll see you soon! God bless you.
